Sanrio fans have something exciting to look forward to as the beloved Hello Kitty and her friends are getting their very own smartwatches. Japanese company Green House Co., Ltd. has teamed up with Sanrio to launch a collection of floral-themed smartwatches featuring Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin.
First Sanrio Smartwatches by a Japanese Manufacturer
According to PR Times, these smartwatches mark the first time a Japanese domestic company has produced Sanrio-themed smartwatches. Each watch includes dedicated character voices that play for alarms and incoming calls, adding a nostalgic touch for fans. The design features pastel colors, character-themed clasps, and straps with the character’s name printed on them.
Features and Pricing
The smartwatches are priced at 14,080 yen (approximately $93) and will be available for purchase on the Green House website. They come equipped with various health-tracking features, including:
- Heart rate monitor
- Sleep tracker
- Step counter
- Active distance tracker
- Calories burned tracker
- Skin temperature sensor
- Blood oxygen saturation monitor
Additionally, the watches support notifications for calls, emails, and social media alerts. Other functions include a Find-My-Smartphone feature, music playback control, camera control, and voice assistant compatibility. Users can also choose from six character-inspired watch faces and access the smartwatch in 13 languages, including English and Chinese.
Sanrio’s Expanding Watch Collection
This new smartwatch collection follows several previous Sanrio watch releases. Last year, SEIKO launched a Hello Kitty watch for the character’s 50th anniversary, and Pochacco also received a special watch edition. While these previous models were traditional mechanical or digital watches, the new smartwatches add advanced features for modern users.
Fans can get their hands on the Hello Kitty and Friends smartwatch collection when it launches in mid-February 2025. With a combination of nostalgic charm and modern functionality, these smartwatches are set to be a must-have for Sanrio lovers.
